المعلقات السبع او العشر

المعلقات هي قصائد طويلة مختارة من الشعر العربي في العصر الجاهلي. وتعتبر هذه القصائد أروع وأنفس ما قيل في الشعر العربي القديم لذلك اهتم الناس بها ودونوها وكتبوا شروحا لها، وهي عادة ما تبدأ بذكر الأطلال وتذكر ديار محبوبة الشاعر.

تسميتها وعددها

اختلف الدارسون لها في تسميتها وعددها.

فقد قيل: سميت معلقات لأنها مثل العقود النفيسة تعلق بالأذهان.

وقيل: إن هذه القصائد كانت تكتب بماء الذهب وتعلق على أستار الكعبة قبل مجيء الإسلام لذلك يطلق عليها أيضا (المذهّبات).

وقيل: إن حماد الراوية هو من جمع القصائد السبع الطوال وسماها بالمعلقات (السموط). وكان يقول إنها من أعذب ما قالت العرب وإن العرب كانوا يسمونها بالسموط (المعلقات).

وقد ذهب الأدباء والكتاب من بعده لدراستها، مثل ابن الكلبي. وابن عبد ربه صاحب العقد الفريد وأضاف بكتابه أمر تعليقها بالكعبة.

عدد المعلقات

قد تجدهم سبع قصائد في كل كتاب قديم لكن منهم من أضاف قصيدة لشاعر وأهمل قصيدة لآخر، فاحتاروا من هم السبعة فجعلوها عشرا.

فهي " 7 " عند ابن عبد ربه والزوزني وابن رشيق وابن خلدون. و " 9 " عند ابن النحاس. و " 10 " عند التبريزي.
